Grease Monkey is a hand-bound, screen-printed publication documenting my grandad Peter’s lifetime of collecting, keeping, and refusing to throw away. Created for the International Magic “Library of the Future” brief, it presents his garage, sheds, and home in Wiltshire as a personal library, catalogued not by system but by memory. The publication follows the structure of a guided tour, the way he showed it to me, moving from the front of the house through the garage, down the garden path, and into the shed. Over 200 items are individually indexed across fold-out and standard pages, balancing in situ photography with isolated object compositions. The book is 210 x 270mm landscape inspired by MGC GT grille, Swiss bound with a screen-printed cover on black book cloth, printed on 160gsm smooth stock.
