Langwij is a stamp toolkit of 26 letters and 8 punctuation marks inspired by my and my brother’s experience with dyslexia. Led by phonetic experimentation, similar sounds are represented through similar shapes, so letters that are commonly confused look intentionally alike. The tool celebrates confusion, giving users a taste of what it feels like to navigate language. It plays on the time-consuming, frustrating process of letter identification. Each heavy block is hand-carved from lino and corresponds to a single letter. Langwij is a way to spell and write, led by sound and similarity.
